No, I am not new to the world of tech. It only comes naturally. However, what’s not coming ‘naturally’ these days is ‘Artificial’ Intelligence or the buzzword, ‘AI’.
Every time we open our LinkedIn, we see things like:
#jobsearchstrategies #careertips #linkedinoptimization #resumes #ai
🤔 #TechRevolution #AIadventures
Blah and blah! Is it only me or is it all ‘very annoying’?
AI was born in the 1950s. It is however until recently, that we have started to observe the craziness associated. Does anyone remember the plot of the famous Will Smith’s I, Robot?
If you don’t here is a synopsis: “In 2035, highly intelligent robots fill public service positions throughout the world, operating under three rules to keep humans safe. Despite his dark history with robotics, Detective Del Spooner (Will Smith) investigates the alleged suicide of U.S. Robotics founder Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell) and believes that a human-like robot (Alan Tudyk) murdered him. With the help of a robot expert (Bridget Moynahan), Spooner discovers a conspiracy that may enslave humans” – Source: Google
Now, if you correlate this with the recent AI phobia on LinkedIn, you are like, wow it is not even 2035 yet and here we are!
The bad news is that yes, we are ‘almost’ there.
The good news is that AI is not as intelligent as we think they are. The very famous #chatgpt is getting dumber in another news. Why? Well, it is interacting with humans. At least that is the blame humans are getting (just kidding?). According to ‘the sun’,
“…the performance and behavior of both GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 vary significantly across these two releases and that their performance on some tasks have gotten substantially worse over time,” the researchers wrote.”

And of course, when it comes to marking something as ‘stupider’, Stanford scientists never miss a chance.
“GPT-4 (March 2023) was very good at identifying prime numbers (accuracy 97.6 percent),” the researchers wrote in their paper’s abstract, “but GPT-4 (June 2023) was very poor on these same questions (accuracy 2.4 percent).”

So, are you still insecure about machines taking over?
Are you still taking 12 hours every day, spread over 12 months costing $5000/year AI courses to beat the machines?
Or…are you just sitting back, relaxed like me for the AI storm to pass amidst tech layoffs? Feel free to share your thoughts!
One response to “The Artificially ‘Not’ Intelligent”
Good stuff!
